Angelina S. Escoto, 90, of Amarillo, passed from this world on March 9, 2025. Born on March 9, 1935, in Tucumcari, NM, she was the daughter of Victorino and Guadalupe Segura. On July 16, 1951, she married Antonio C. Escoto in Amarillo, beginning a partnership that would last for over five decades. Angelina dedicated approximately 30 years of her life to her work as a housekeeping supervisor, eventually retiring from a career that exemplified her strong work ethic. Known for her vibrant spirit, she filled her life with passions such as dancing, painting, punch embroidery, and cooking. She was particularly renowned for her tamales and cherished moments spent cooking for her family during large gatherings. Family was the cornerstone of Angelina's life, and she treasured the time spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons: Tony Escoto Jr. and his wife Mary, Mike Escoto, David Escoto and his wife Dorothy; daughters: Elisa Craine and her husband Rick, Sheila Saldivar, Elvira Escoto and her fiancé Daniel Munoz, and Pat Sandoval and her husband Manny. Angelina was the proud grandmother of 34 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
She is preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Antonio C. Escoto, who passed away on June 17, 2008. She was also preceded by her parents, Victorino who passed in 1945 and Guadalupe Segura who passed on April 26, 1991; her brothers, Eloy Segura (June 1991), Mike Segura (July 1991), Joe Segura (1976), and Ray Segura; as well as her sister, Cecilia Martinez, who passed in April 2024. Angelina mourned the loss of her son, Victor Cordova, who passed on April 13, 2012, and her daughter, Dolores Marquez, who departed on March 12, 2008 also her three grandsons; Israel Marque passing in May 1995, Joel Marquez passing in March 2016, and Manual Marquez passing in April 2024. Angelina's legacy of love, warmth, and creativity will live on in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
