Curtis Wayne Baker, age 77, of Maryville, died Sunday, March 9, 2025 at The Waters of Maryville.
He was known for his sense of humor, big heart, and knack for fixing just about anything. He was skilled in remodeling, painting, and carpentry and spent part of his career as a maintenance supervisor. Curtis proudly served his country as a veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Baker and Florence Jenkins Taylor; brother, James Baker; and sister, Sharroyn Nix.
Curtis is survived by his daughter, Katherine (Lucas) Sellers and children of Knoxville; sisters, Hellen Doucet of Statesville, NC, and Debbie (Dr. Bruce) Roberts of Louisville; sister-in-law, Diane Baker of Newton, NC; nieces, Michelle Alexander and Natasha Huffstetler; nephews, Richard Strickland, James Baker Jr., Michael Baker, and Milton Suggs; several beloved great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends Donny and Randall.
His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Blount Memorial Hospital (4-North) and The Waters of Maryville (1-South) for the compassionate care they provided.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 13, at Louisville Cemetery, 3008 Louisville Rd, Louisville, TN 37777, with the Rev. Joe Green officiating.
