Mary Young Obituary
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce on February14th, 2025 Mary Young passed away. Born on October 24th, 1967 to the late William "Freddy " and Mary Young.
Mary is survived by her children Scot, Dustin, Tobias (Pugo) Dickerson and Cynthia Perez, her grandchildren Rhea Young, Jaylynn Dickerson, Ryan Martin, Jillian Phelps, and Isabella Perez. In addition, there are a multitude of cousins who were considered siblings.
For the past 23 years, she was devoted to her work at Frank's Truck Stop in Chesapeake. She showed each person who came in the true meaning of southern hospitality. She never knew a stranger, those who became friends, became family too.
She was a cherished friend who spoke her mind with kindness and sincerity. She was a beloved, integral part of so many lives, as a devoted mother, grandmother, and loyal companion. Mary's warmth and love touched all who knew her. She will truly be missed by many.
The celebration of life for Mary Young will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Cully’s, 3107 Airline Blvd, Portsmouth, VA 23701. Please bring a dish, if you are able, as it will be a potluck.
