Vernon Marples was born in Nottinghamshire, England on December 28th, 1935, and emigrated with his family to Canada on October 2nd, 1978, when he became a Pastor in The Wesleyan Church. Having “finished the task the Lord Jesus had given” he completed his earthly life on Thursday, April 12th, 2018 at Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street site. Beloved husband for nearly sixty years of Audrey Marples (nee Busfield). Loving Dad to Janet Starks (Richard) of Sussex, New Brunswick, Stuart Marples (Kellie) of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, Helen Parker (Mark) of Stratford, Ontario, and Richard Marples (Jennifer) of Three Hills, Alberta. Grandad to Shawn (Tina), Sarah, Rachel, Heidi, Jonathan (Sarah), Ian, Lindsay, Samantha, Matthew (Echo), Jamie, and Nathaniel. Vernon was also the proud great-grandad of Daxton. Survived by his brother, Peter, of Derbyshire, England.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Tuesday, April 17th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A celebration of Vernon's life will be held on Wednesday, April 18th at 11 am at the Brockville Wesleyan Church, 33 Central Ave. W., Brockville, ON, K6V 4N4.
