Christine Leja Obituary
Christine Leja, nee Krol, 77, of Palmyra, IL, born May 24, 1947, in Chicago, IL, died Sunday, March 9, 2025, at her residence.
Christine was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Girard. Prior to that, she was a member of St. Peter’s Cathedral in Belleville.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Norman J. Leja, whom she married on October 21, 1972, and who died on December 11, 2016; and her father, Stanley Krol.
Surviving are a daughter, Natalie (Robert) Clinton of Cupertino, CA; a son, Mark Leja of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Katie, Emily, and Audrey;
her mother, Helen Krol; two brothers, Stanley (Linda) Krol of Gilbert, AZ, and John (Julie) Krol of Carlinville, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral: A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Girard, IL.
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO
