Mr. Dewey E. “Gene” Helms, age 83 of Griffin Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Gene was born on April 13, 1941, in Griffin, Georgia. He was a co-founder and chief at Sefcor, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey S. and Rossie Mildred Helms; brothers, Bo Helms and Edward Helms; sister, Polly Cone and Gladys Crosby; wife, Cindy Helms.
He is survived by his sisters, Thelma Chambley and Velma Patton; daughters, Misty (Jeff) Clay and Mindy Hunt; son, James Loyd; five grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be Friday March 14, 2025 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
