Randall L Smith Obituary

Randall L. Smith, 70, of Grove City, Ohio was born on January 20, 1955, in Gallia County, Ohio, and went to be with his Lord and Savior, unexpectedly, on March 9, 2025.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sharon; father-in-law Hugo D'Amico; his cherished daughter, Shayanna Marie, and his beloved granddaughter Kallee Ann Marie Smith. He is also survived by his brother James (Renee) Smith, sister Sandra (Victor) Younger; brothers-in law Don Jones; Hugo (Jane) D’Amico; Mike (Missy) Pagnanelli; Tony Pagnanelli; Ted (Teresa) Wasmus; sisters-in-law Toni D’Amico; Teresa (Shawn) Roof; Vicki (Al) Bouffard; Pam (Joe) McCullough; Debbie (Jim) Booth; a host of nieces and nephews who adored him, and a lifelong friend Don Bellomy.

Randy and Sharon began their love story 55 years ago in junior high school, and from that moment on, they were inseparable. Their devotion to each other was evident to all who knew them, and they were well known for their friendship, adventures, and unwavering support for one another.

Randy built a career and later retired from the Franklin County Treasurer's Office, where he was known for his dedication and hard work.

Beyond his professional career, Randy had a lifelong love for sports and adventure, which began in junior high with basketball and continued into high school. His passion for competition led him to the boxing ring, where he became a professional fighter. He had the honor of fighting on the undercard of Steve Gregory and James “Buster” Douglas, managed by Johnny Johnson. His love for the sport extended beyond his own career, as he dedicated countless hours to mentoring and training youth in the neighborhood, instilling in them discipline, perseverance, and confidence.

Randy also found joy in riding motorcycles and spending time outdoors hunting. However, nothing brought him greater happiness than the moments he spent with his family. He was their protector, biggest supporter, always present with love, encouragement, and a steadfast commitment to those he cherished most.

Randy will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and Pap, loyal brother, beloved uncle, and cherished friend to many. His legacy of love, adventure, and mentorship will live on in the lives of those he touched.
