Lillie Mae Boehnke, 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025 in Schulenburg, TX.
She was born on August 22,1929 to Herman and Annie Boehnke and lived the majority of her life on the family ranch in Muldoon, TX.
Lillie attended school at Bethany and Cistern Public Schools and was blessed with four generations of nieces and nephews in her lifetime. However, Lillie spent most of her later years cared for by nephews: Devon Boehnke and Harold Boehnke of Muldoon.
As the only daughter of six children, Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: Ernest, Ed, Henry, Elton, and Alvin Boehnke and their loving wives.
Lillie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton, TX. There she was involved with the Zion’s Women of the ELCA and the Quilting Club. Her many hobbies included quilting, solving word searches and jigsaw puzzles, and playing bingo. She enjoyed participating in annual events like the Muldoon 4th of July Parade and her family’s Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings where she was able to hold and rock the next generation of Boehnke children.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton, TX. Following the service, a meal will be served for all family and friends in attendance. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Special thanks are given to the caring staff at College Place in Schulenburg, TX where Lillie resided the last few years. She enjoyed meeting and making new friends while living there.
