Paul L. Galley, of Prospect St. passed away on March 9, 2025, at home. He was the husband of Muriel (Langlois) Galley. Born on January 21, 1936, in Bethlehem, PA, he was a son of the late John and Catherine (Whitman) Galley. After graduating High School in Pennsylvania, Paul enlisted in the US Air Force. During his service he served as a military escort and came to Woonsocket in 1955. It was then that he met his wife. and they started their life’s journey. Paul previously lived in Cumberland, RI and was a Volunteer Firefighter at North Cumberland Fire Department for many years. He volunteered as a religious education teacher at St John Vianney Parish. Paul was a member of the Manville Sportsman’s Rod & Gun Club. He retired from New England Printing in Lincoln, RI., after twenty plus years and then returned to live in Woonsocket. He enjoyed spending time with family, doing landscaping and being an all around handyman for his family.
Besides his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Diane Mayers and her husband Kit, Lu-Ann DiSpirito and her husband Ernest, a son Paul S. Galley and his wife Charlene, four grandchildren, Victoria Mayers, Michael DiSpirito, Elizabeth Galley and Stephen Galley all of Woonsocket. He is also survived by his brother James Galley of Reading, PA, niece Estella Beard and her husband Glenn of Red Hill, PA and nephew Rick Galley and wife Lori of Reading, PA. Paul was predeceased by grandsons John and James Mayers and sisters Helen Newman and Catherine Doherty.
His funeral with visitation will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket from 10-11 AM with a service in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. In lieu of flowers donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd. Staten Island, NY 10306 in his memory would be appreciated.
