Nancy Hudson nee Sloan, of Glenview, was born May 16, 1936 to Robert and Berenice Sloan and passed away March 9, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. Hudson; loving mother of Robert (Akiko) Hudson; cherished grandmother of Erica, John and Jessie Hudson; dear sister of the late Patricia Sloan and aunt to the late Ronald Howard Sloan.
Nancy was an exceptional learner and leader who strove for excellence in every aspect of her life. She was raised in Highland Park, IL during the war years and often shared stories of how growing up tending victory gardens, canning foods and collecting supplies to support the war effort made those challenging years most memorable. In 1949, she enrolled in the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Lake Forest, IL. and in 1955 attended Rosary College in River Forest, IL.
As a mother, Nancy served as a Cub Scout den mother, Boy Scout troop leader and President of the Woodrow Wilson PTA while her son was young. In 1973 she was “born again” and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She immediately began introducing others to the life-changing power of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She taught the Believers’ Fellowship & Bible study every Tuesday morning for over fifty years while also working full-time in retail management at Chaz. A Stevens and Neiman Marcus. In the 1990’s she left retail to began a new career managing the Glenview Medical practice (which was eventually absorbed by Evanston Northwestern/North Shore Health Care). She served as a volunteer, teacher, leader and friend to many at Northwest Assembly of God, Christian Life Church, Willow Creek North Shore, and Adat Hatikvah Messianic Synagogue.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
