Ronald Panknin, 74, of Alpena passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Brian’s house in Essexville.
Ronald was born December 3, 1950, in Alpena to the late Delbert and Blanche (Piantkowski) Panknin. He graduated in the Class of 1969 from Alpena High School, began his passion for golf, leading to a lifetime of playing and proudly getting three hole-in-ones. Ronald enjoyed playing pool, darts, trapping, fishing, had an appreciation for nature and knew nearly every trout stream in the area.
Surviving are his sons, Jason (Ashly) Panknin, Dale Panknin; three grandchildren, Liberty, Harrison, Yszerman; five siblings, James (Julie) Panknin, David Panknin, Sandy (Dave) Hein, Sally (Todd) McMann, and Fred Panknin. Also surviving are a host of friends including Julie Alexander & Mike Sparling.
Ronald was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Panknin.
A graveside service will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 1 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
