Terrell Antonio Brown was born on Ft. Bragg Army Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on March 4, 1961. He never knew his father, but he was raised by Cebie Brown. His mother, Lillie Bernice Brown-Ferby (b. 1932/d. 2021) moved with Terrell, along with brothers Tyrone and Torrance and sister Carmen, to New Haven, Connecticut when Terrell was three months old. He went to Hillhouse High School in New Haven, owned a car stereo installation business, and worked for five years building helicopters at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT. In New Haven at age 11 he met his “Big Brother” Toby McLeod, a student at Yale, and they were friends for life. Terrell moved back to Dunn, NC, in 1991. In 2008, after three dates he asked Doretha Smith Brown to marry him. It took two more dates for Doretha to say yes and they moved to Bunnlevel. Terrell helped Dr. Ibrahim Oudeh win election to mayor of Dunn in 1999, and he worked to save the Wilkins Cemetery in Dunn when the Black cemetery was threatened by a proposed road and bridge railroad crossing in 2004.
Terrell Antonio Brown leaves to cherish his memories his wife Doretha Brown of Bunnlevel, NC.
