Leon Wayne Shelton, 70, of Eckerty, Indiana died on March 9, 2025 at his home.  Leon was born on February 2, 1955 in Fairmount, Indiana to the late Hovel W. and Essie C. (Cutshall) Shelton.

Leon was a former truck driver, school bus driver for Crawford County Community School Corporation, owner-operator of Mudds Tire Shop in Taswell, Indiana, and was a former mechanic for Mulzer Quarry in Eckerty.  Leon was a bass guitarist in a band.  One of his favorite past times, was people watching.  Leon loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane Shelton; a sister, Gail Magby; and a stillborn grandson, Rilan Barnes.

He is survived by his daughters:  Lisa Shelton of Taswell, Indiana and Melissa Barnes (Ben) of Chesterland, Ohio; his companion, Janet Thompson of Marengo, Indiana; grandchildren:  Sadie Summers (Sweetheart), Elyssa Summers (Peanut), Shayla Summers (Tater), and Adelyn Barnes (Funny Face); adopted sons, Chris Barnes, Davin Corbett, and Mitch Polen; close family in Tennessee and North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fairview General Baptist Church, 5560 W. Patoka School Road, Taswell, Indiana  47175.  Interment will follow in the Taswell Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. and after 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, all at the church.

Bro. Al Madden will officiate the service.

Casket Bearers will be Ben and Chris Barnes, Mitch Polen, Davin Corbett, Leonard Cutshall, and John Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview General Baptist Church.
