Louis Sclafane Obituary

Louis Sclafane, 93, a lifelong resident of Bayonne passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, March 9, 2025.  He served his country proudly in the United States Army in the Korean War.  Louis owned and operated Sclafane Seafood on Broadway in Bayonne with his brothers for 25 years and prior he worked for Western Electric in Kearny.  He was an avid bowler in his day and is a  member of the Hudson County Bowling Hall of Fame.  He was a true gentleman and a very kind and generous man.  He loved attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events and activities and he was always ready for a good poker game.

Louis was predeceased by his parents Anna Guardino and Louis Sclafani, his beloved wife Joan (Scanlon) Sclafane, his daughter Geralyn Nicaretta and siblings Mary Barsalona, Joseph Sclafane, Marie Algeria, Frank Sclafane, Veronica Guardino, Charles Sclafane, Florence Jadach, Dorothy Sclafane, Louise Romanowski,Teresa Annetta, Regina Morkevich and Leonard Sclafane.

Loving father of Kim Perez, Lauren Dugan and her late husband Peter and Glenn Sclafane and his wife Pamela,

Dear grandfather of Danielle Dugan, Kellie Dugan and her partner Eddie Olanowski, Jamie Dugan, Nicole Perez and her partner Scott Johnston, Anthony Smith and his partner Shanna Fahrion, Samantha Rojas and her husband Shawn and Jodi Sclafane. Cherished brother of Annette Collins and her late husband Dennis. Also survived by a son-in-law Lenny Nicaretta, many nieces and nephews and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 857 Kennedy Blvd, Bayonne.  Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's RC Church, Bayonne.  Cremation will be private.
