Terry Allen Tracey Obituary

Terry Allen Tracey, the son of Teddy Junior and Mary Virginia (DeVoll) Tracey, was born April 18, 1954 in Iowa City, Iowa. He had worked as a dishwasher at Udders and at Midtown in Newton for about twelve years. He retired in 2020. Terry always enjoyed seeing friends and interacting with people. He also enjoyed watching oldies tv, watching football (especially the Kansas City Chiefs), basketball and baseball. And listening to Oldies radio KIOA and listening to his records. He also enjoyed going to Sunday church services at Linden Place Apartments in Newton and The Bridges in Ankeny.


Terry died on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 70 years old. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Nancy Lile, June Joanne Tracey and Julie Tracey; his brother, Larry Tracey.


Those left to honor Terry’s memory include his sisters, Linda (Harry) Jordan, Mary Lou Beaver (Robert Meyer), Barbara (Barry) Jones; his nieces and nephews, Bobbie Kokorowski, Justin Rassmusson, Joseph Rassmusson, Stephanie Beackman, Jeremy Rasmusson, Sarah Bradbury, Lisa Lile, Jennifer Beck, Regina Lile; and many great nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Monday, March 17, 2025 at Pence Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation with the family will be from 10:30 am until service time. A Facebook Live broadcast will begin at 11:30 am on the funeral home Facebook page. Memorials may be designated to the Jasper County Elderly Nutrition.
