James Edward Eves Obituary

Eves: James Edward “Jim”, a resident of R.R.#5 Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the age of 90. Born in Dawn Twp., son of the late Gilbert and Mary (Fox) Eves. Jim was a hardworking man who built a life around dedication, and perseverance. Throughout his career, he worked as a construction worker, welder, pipefitter Local 663., and lifelong farmer. His passion for farming was evident in the countless hours he spent tending to cattle, pigs and working the fields. He took great pride in teaching his children the responsibilities of farm life and continued working alongside his son for as long as he was able, only stepping back in the last few months of his life. He loved spending time with his wife traveling throughout Canada and into Alaska to see the pipeline and how others managed in other parts of the country. Jim was a volunteer fireman with the Becher Fire Dept. Beloved husband of Shirley (Lane) Eves. Loving father of Carol Burns (John), Late Ronnie Eves, Luanne Wolfe (Gary), Allan Eves, Janet Barnes (Jim), Brian Eves (Linda) and Patti Lippe (Manfred). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Julie (Darryl), Janine (Ryan), Late Matthew, Paul (Chantal), Justin, Rob (Ashley), Calvin, Katie, and great-grandchildren Ethan, Daleyna, Declan, Emmett, Abigail, Jackson and Owen. Predeceased by his sisters Alma Dick (Reginald) and Jean Jarvis (Grant). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The Eves Family will receive family and friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St., Dresden on Wednesday from 5:00 Pm – 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM (visiting 1 hour prior to the service). Interment Dresden Cemetery.
