Bob "Shorty" Johnson, 63, of Roanoke, passed away, Sunday, March 9, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia on March 9, 1962 to the late Robert W. Johnson, Sr. and Judy Rose Gilbert Leffue.

He is survived by his wife, Juli Albertin; children, Caitlin Johnson (Jason Babos), Simone Logwood (Anthony), Seth Gruver; grandchildren; Jonah, Silas; brothers, Billy Leffue, Travis Snyder, Michael Leffue; sister, Angela Taylor; several nieces, nephews and submariner's along with his dogs, Willie, Otto and Maggie "the hobo princess".

He retired from the U. S. Navy with 20 years of service and was a submarine veteran.

The family would like to thank Carilion Clinic Palliative and Hospice for the kindness and care given to Bob.

There will not be any services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the United States Submarine Veterans Charitable Foundation, PO Box 1063, Groton, CT 06340-1063 or the Carilion Clinic Hospice, 1615 Franklin Ave. SE, Roanoke, VA 24016.
