Randall Keith Bays, known affectionately as Randy, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, in his hometown of Evansville, where he was also born on October 26, 1961 to Gene and Mary Bays. Randy's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, dedication, and hard work, qualities that he embodied until his last day.
Randy was a devoted husband to his wife of 43 years, Clarvetta Bays, and a loving father to his children, the late Jeffry Bays (survived by LaShawn Green) and Jessica Bays (Tony Padilla). His role as a grandfather to Emily Barrett (Colleen), Kaitlyn Padilla, Abbylynn Padilla, and Emerson Padilla, and as a great-grandfather to Jackie Barrett and Kora Ann, was one of his greatest joys. He was the cherished brother of Linda Julian, Carol Wargel, Shirley Brown, Rick Bays, Raymond Bays, and Roger Bays. Randy was preceded in death by his brothers Ronnie, Rod, and Robert Bays and his father Gene Bays. His extended family of many nieces and nephews will remember his guiding presence and the wisdom he shared.
Randy's professional life was marked by his skill and dedication as a mechanic, a trade that he excelled in and took great pride in. His work was not just a job but a calling, where he could combine his love for mechanics with his natural ability to solve problems. Randy's colleagues and friends in the industry will remember him as a man who could always be counted on for a helping hand or a piece of sage advice.
Beyond his work, Randy had a passion for the roar of engines and the thrill of speed. He was an avid fan of frog follies, MOPAR, and race cars, and his enthusiasm for these hobbies was infectious. Those who knew him could often find him in the midst of a lively discussion about the latest race or car show. Randy's love for Rock n Roll music was another facet of his vibrant personality, and he could often be found tapping his foot to the classics.
Randy's personal interests also extended to his home, where his yard was a source of immense pride. He spent countless hours ensuring that every blade of grass was perfectly manicured, and his garden was a reflection of his attention to detail and patience. His yard was not just a patch of land but a canvas where he expressed his creativity and care.
Above all, Randy was a family man. His commitment to his loved ones was unwavering, and he instilled in his family the values of loyalty, perseverance, and love. His presence was a comforting constant, and his guidance was the foundation upon which his family built their lives.
Randy's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the joy of living life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. As we say goodbye to Randall Keith Bays, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved.
