Maureen A. White

Maureen A. (Tetley) White, 81, of Syracuse, peacefully passed away on Sunday surrounded by her family. She was a native and life resident of Syracuse. Maureen was a 1961 graduate of Jamesville Dewitt High School and in 1962 she graduated from the Latin American Institute in NYC. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity/ St. John the Baptist Church in Syracuse. Maureen retired in 2002 after 25 years at LeMoyne College where she worked as an Executive Assistant to the President. Prior to that she was employed by Bristol Laboratories and Drumlins Country Club. She was a devoted Mimi and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Maureen enjoyed reading, gardening, walking, her membership at Curves, traveling to Clearwater, FL, cruises, organizing and collating. She volunteered her time at the St. John’s All Faiths food pantry. Maureen was predeceased by her parents, Donald C. and Kathleen A. Tetley, and her brother-in-law, Leslie Eassa. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Peter White; her daughter, Suzanne (Joseph) Talarico; her son, Kevin (Nancy) White; her sisters, Sharon Eassa and Kathleen Tetley; her brother, Bruce Tetley; her five grandchildren, Isabella, Emma, Lily, Cameron, and Ashley; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to express a special thanks to Aging Advocates of CNY, The Peregrine Senior Living Memory Care, Cathy and Deb from Caregivers, St. Joseph’s Health, and Loretto- Cunningham 7th floor especially Tracy. Friends and family may call 11am to 1 pm Friday at Holy Trinity/ St. John the Baptist Church, Park Street, Syracuse followed by a Mass of Christian burial. Maureen will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, N.Y. Contributions may be made in Maureen’s honor to All Faith’s Food Pantry.
