Waterford - Elizabeth A. (Hathaway) Maggs, 91, died Sunday, March 9, 2025, at her residence after a brief illness.
Born in Williamsburg, MA, she was the daughter of the late Walter Hathaway and Eldora Wait Hathaway and wife of the late John H. Maggs. She had resided in Binghamton and in Waterford since 1961. She was a graduate of Williamsburg, MA High School and attended the University of Connecticut and the University of Massachusetts.
Elizabeth was a homemaker. She dedicated her life to caring for others in the community and became a nanny figure to the Berry family and others as well.
Survivors include a son, Benjamin (Anita) Maggs, NY; three daughters, Deborah (James) Quinn, TN, Rebecca (James) McKay, MD, and Lori Maggs, Georgia; and 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, David W. (Martha) Maggs with grandson Andrew; a sister, Shirley McGrath; and a brother, Raymond Hathaway.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Ave., Troy on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 2-4 PM with a funeral service to follow at 4 PM with Rev. Jeff Silvernail, officiating.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens in Colonie.
