Robert Daniel Olsen, 82, of Manchester, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 9, 2025. He was the son of the late Leroy and Rae Anne Olsen, and was born on June 17, 1942 in Pennsylvania.

“Dan” was known for his remarkable intelligence and was lovingly referred to by his family as “the walking encyclopedia.” A true lover of knowledge, he found joy in reading, often spending hours outside with a good book, a cold soda in hand, and the warmth of the sun on his face. He also had a passion for sports and cherished the time he spent with his family. Dan’s strong will, determination, and unwavering resilience defined him, making a lasting impact on those who knew and loved him

Dan is survived by his former wife, best friend, and mother of his two children Lois Hampson; his son, Andrew Olsen and his partner, Amy Johansen; his grandchildren, Justine Garrison and her husband Brian Violette, Julianna Garrison and her boyfriend Maurice, and Joshua Garrison; great-grandchildren, DJ, Landon, Raelynn, Adelynn, Emelynn and Calvin; and his grand-dog, Emma. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Olsen, and his brother Paul Olsen.

Relatives and friends are invited to the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St. on Friday, March 14, from 4-6 pm followed by a funeral home service at 6pm. The burial will take place privately and at the convenience of the family.
