After 90 years of faithful service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, and his country; Sam Knowlton was called home Sunday, March 9, 2025. A life-long member of the Salvation Army, Sam was a devoted member of the brass band for decades.

After dutifully serving as a paratrooper in the Army, Sam spent his civilian career selling tractor trailer trucks for International Harvester, Hertz Penske and Ryder.

Swimming for exercise proved to be Sam's passion later in life as he developed into a competitive swimmer, participating in numerous competitions including the National Senior Olympics several times. He won hundreds of metals from age 55-75.

Honoring his memory are Sam's sons and their families which he affectionately referred to as the SC Knowltons - Randy (Amy); grandson, Zak (Lizzie); great granddaughter, Addy Jo; and grandson, Adam (Taylor). and the FL Knowltons - Troy (Kim); grandson, Matthew (Natalie); great grandson; Heath; great granddaughter, Mae; granddaughter, Courtney (Kyle); great granddaughter, Remi; and granddaughter Olivia (Jameson).

Sam will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife of 62 years, Ilene, in a private graveside service at Graceland East Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
