Mr. Homer Dwight Leonard was born on November 17, 1962, to the late Willie Leonard and Carrie Leonard. Homer was preceded in death by his father Willie Leonard, brother Kirk Leonard, sister Phyllis Leonard. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church of Eclectic, AL. He graduated from Wetumpka High School Class of 1982. Homer was best known for his hard work and always helping others. He dedicated his life to his job and family. He worked tirelessly at two full-time jobs at Wetumpka Health and Rehabilitation and PHP of Alabama until his health failed him. He loved his jobs, and he never called in, to work sick, that’s how dedicated he was to his jobs. He worked 30 years at the nursing home and 20-plus years at PHP. He loved his family dearly and there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. He leaves to cherish his memories; a very devoted wife, Cynthia Leonard, four children: Demetrius (Mary) Leonard of Montgomery, AL, Devontae Leonard, Tametrices (Damien) Spears, Shaleshia (Romon) Smith all of Elmore, AL, mother Carrie (Jessie) Combs of Loachopoka, AL, ten very special grandchildren: Marleigh, Maleah, and Mars Leonard all of Montgomery, AL, Karter, and Kynnedi Leonard of Millbrook, AL, Trontavious, Trazayvion, Khaziriah
Brown, Tylearia, and Danika Spears all of Elmore, AL, sister, Mary Leonard of Wetumpka, AL, Aunt, Francis Davis of Redland, AL, brothers-in-law: Bernard Wells of Wetumpka, AL, Sonny (Becky) Jackson of Montgomery, AL, sisters-in-law: Patricia Jones of Montgomery, AL Annie Bozeman of Wetumpka, AL, Patricia Brown of Elmore, AL, a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
