Anne Marie Graham passed away peacefully in her home in Midland, Michigan on Sunday, March 9th, 2025 at the age of 71. Anne Marie lived a compassionate life in the service of others and will be missed by all who knew her.
A devoted wife, loving mother, and committed friend, Anne Marie was born Anne Marie Walsh in Liverpool, in the United Kingdom, on July 19th, 1953. Anne Marie attended Broughton Hall Convent of Mercy High School from which she graduated in 1971. Anne Marie then proceeded to attend the University of Leeds, where she achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Theology in 1974. Following graduation from the University of Leeds, Anne Marie taught religious education for six years in the UK.
While attending the University of Leeds, Anne Marie met her husband, Stephen Graham, and the two were married on July 31st, 1976. During their 49 years of marriage, Anne Marie and Stephen traveled together with Stephen’s work with the Dow Chemical Company. First beginning their family in King’s Lynn, UK, Anne Marie and Stephen then moved to Antwerp, Belgium in 1990, and then to Midland in the summer of 1995.
Anne Marie’s compassion and belief in service provided her with strength to tirelessly volunteer in the community. During her years in Midland, Anne Marie offered her time and service to Herbert Henry Dow High, Shelterhouse Midland, the International Women’s Club of Midland, the Grace A. Dow Library, as rwell as hospice care providers, community groups, and shelters in the area.
A guiding light throughout her life, Anne Marie’s devout Catholic faith was reflected in her time spent volunteering and working within the local Catholic community. For many years, you could expect to see Anne Marie at St. Brigid of Kildare and Assumption of the Blessed Mary churches serving as a photographer, reader, and Eucharistic minister - often during the same Mass. Anne Marie became a commissioned lay minister and found joy and connection in serving in this role before being hired as the Director of Faith Formation at St. Brigid’s, a position she held for 12 years before her retirement in 2019. Anne Marie continued volunteering at Assumption up until her passing.
Anne Marie’s interests included photography, reading, word games, and cooking for her family and others. She loved Midland for its blend of multicultural and international elements mixed with a warm, welcoming community.
Anne Marie will be forever loved and missed by her husband, Stephen; children, Katherine Crouch, Christopher Graham, and Gregory Graham; son-in-law Simon Crouch; grandchildren, Rebecca and Sam; and grand-dog, Pacey.
