It is with deep sadness that we announce Daphne Jean Johnson (nee Flutter) passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the age of 92 years.

Daphne was born on August 29, 1932, in Guildford, Surrey, England, to Hilda Flutter. She, her mother, and her younger siblings, Kathleen and Alan, departed Southampton, England, aboard the RMS Aquitania, arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax in June of 1946. They settled in Saskatoon, SK, where Mom met and married our dad, Malcolm Johnson, in 1950.

They spent their first married years together travelling throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta while Malcolm worked on the seismic crews for British American Oil and Gulf Oil. They settled in the Haysboro neighbourhood of Calgary, AB, in 1956, where they happily raised their busy family of eight children. In time, they were blessed with sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren (who lovingly refer to her as ‘GG’!).

Daphne and Malcolm loved to travel together and enjoyed their many trips to Mexico and Alaska, as well as wonderful trips to England to visit family. After Malcolm’s passing in 2012, Daphne moved to the Millrise area where she lived for nine years, moving to Walden Age Care in September 2024 until her death.

Daphne was predeceased by her loving husband Malcolm, her children, Karen Marshall (Bill), Tony Johnson (Ruth), Tammy Fraser (Glenn), and Terry Johnson (Susan), and her sisters, Ivy and Kathleen.

She is survived by her children, Cathy Rawles (Bob), Maureen Kawa (Larry), Rick Johnson (Val), and Don Johnson (Carmela). She will also be greatly missed by her brother Alan Lutz of Saskatoon, SK; her sister-in-law Phyllis McCullough of Sherwood Park, AB; and all their families.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful, caring nurses and doctors at South Health Campus Emergency and Rapid Access Unit who cared for our mother and supported us in her final hours, as well as Nurse Regina and staﬀ at Walden Age Care. Thank you to Dr. J. Tkalych (retired), our parents' family doctor for more than 30 years.

Daphne will be laid to rest with Malcolm at Eden Brook Funeral Home & Cemetery, with a family service to be held at a later date.
