Zenaida S. McAndrews, age 91, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025. Born in Legaspi, Philippines, on September 15, 1933. She lived a full life filled with love and laughter, and with a profound sense of generosity and community. Zenaida was a devoted wife of 70 years to George E. McAndrews. She raised four successful children Debra (Robert), Robert (Lauren), Caroline (Catherine), and Christopher (Gabrielle). She is also survived by five grandchildren (Patrick, Christopher, Alexandra, Laura, and Ryan). Zenaida is preceded in death by Faustina Sevilla, her mother, and five siblings and survived by 2 siblings in the Philippines. While providing the best life for her four children and husband, Zenaida put her passion into many other interests, for which she excelled. As her children grew older, Zenaida went on to college and graduated with a BA degree in Fine Arts with honors. She became involved and led the Bay Shore Garden Club as President. She supported the fundraising for the Daughter’s of Wisdom and, as the main decorator, the Coe Hall Historic Museum at Planting Fields Arboretum Christmas event. Zenaida’s generosity resulted in receiving several honors, including the Hall of Fame award at St. Joseph's Academy. Zenaida will be missed by all who knew her. Our mother was truly a gift that God gave the world for 91 years.
