Michelle Christine Hunt Obituary

We come together to celebrate the life and cherish the memory of Michelle Christine Hunt, a radiant soul who was called home on March 9, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on June 14, 1965, in the crisp air of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Michelle's journey of 59 years led her to a peaceful departure in the loving community of Chestermere, Alberta.

Michelle, known affectionately by all as a beacon of light, love and warmth, was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Kerry Hunt. Together, they built a life founded on love, mutual respect, and unwavering partnership. She was a proud and nurturing mother to her stepson, Matthew Hunt, and a guiding light to her daughter-in-law, Crystal Pacheco, and her cherished granddaughter, Mia Lynn Hunt. Her older stepson, Ryan Hunt, also brought her immense joy and pride. Michelle's family was the cornerstone of her existence, a tapestry woven with the threads of love, laughter, and shared memories.

Her parents, Helmtrudis (Trudy) Weng and Bernd Huckfeldt, instilled in her the values of kindness and courage, which she carried throughout her life. Michelle also shared a special bond with her in-laws, the late Sandra Watson and Bill Watson, as well as her brother-in-law, Bruce Hunt. She was embraced as a beloved figure by her surrogate grandchildren, Owen, Grace, and Caelen Lee, and their parents, Rob and Jen Lee. Her circle of love extended to her special friends, Mary Fisher, Elmer and Penny Lee, Richard Gerow, and the many cousins on Kerry's side. In recent years she was blessed to become "Auntie" to Zeke, Isaac and Caleb Krawczuk and their parent Nicki and Joe Krawczuk

Michelle's educational journey led her from the completion of grade 12 to the pursuit of knowledge in Victoria, British Columbia, where she trained to become a medical and an office assistant. She carried the spirit of service and excellence into her career, from her days as a waitress during high school to her compassionate work in a Seniors home. Michelle's professional path culminated as an Office Manager for the IBEW Electrical Union, where she left a legacy of dedication and leadership. Alongside Kerry, she built a successful Amway business, a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit and tenacity.

Her life was a tapestry of passions, from the simple pleasure of family vacations to the thrill of motorcycle cruising with Kerry by her side. Michelle found joy in reading, drives through the countryside, and honing her skills at the shooting range. She was a steadfast servant at Lake Ridge Community Church, pouring her heart into the lives of others and living the Gospel she so dearly believed.

In the words of the Apostle Paul, "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13). Michelle embodied this scripture, for she was a woman of profound faith, unwavering hope, and boundless love.

Michelle's essence can be distilled into the words loving, kind, and courageous. Her love was a shelter in times of storm, her kindness a bridge over troubled waters, and her courage an inspiration to all who were privileged to know her. Her life was a sermon of love, preached not from the pulpit but through her daily actions and the gentle touch of her hands.

As we bid farewell to Michelle, let us hold fast to the love she gave, the wisdom she shared, and the memories she created. Her legacy will continue to blossom in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will forever be a guiding light.

We take solace in knowing that Michelle now rests in the arms of our Heavenly Father, free from pain and suffering. She has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, she has kept the faith. Now there is in store for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to her on that day—and not only to her but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
