Peggy Scott Obituary

Peggy Scott, aged 72, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, in Burlington, North Carolina. Born on February 25, 1953, in Buchanan, Virginia.

Peggy found her calling as a Special Education Teacher at Archdale Elementary School, where she devoted countless hours to nurturing and educating students. Even after her retirement, her passion for teaching never waned, as she continued to serve as a substitute teacher, always eager to support and inspire the young minds she encountered.

Baptized in the Baptist faith. She found joy in the written words, spending many hours lost in books that took her to faraway places and times. Peggy also enjoyed the thrill of online casinos, where she could play and unwind.

Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Grant and Eileen Hagerman, and her brothers, Glen and Darrell Hagerman.

Peggy leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughters, Ruby Hagerman and Glenna Taylor, and Grandchildren Logan Taylor, Jantzen Taylor, Nash Clifton, Jax Clifton, Demi Smith. Her sisters, Faye Hagerman and Barbara Sexton, along with her brothers Doug Hagerman (wife Darlene) and Allen Hagerman (wife Becky), as well as many nieces and nephews, who will hold her dear in their hearts. Peggy is also survived by her significant other, Dennis Jarred.

Peggy's celebration of life will be on March 23rd at Victory Baptist Church located at 2093 Lovers Gap Rd, Vansant, VA 24656 at 2PM.
