Rachel Garcia, a beacon of joy and strength, left this world on March 9, 2025, at the age of 63, surrounded by the love of her family and the familiar comforts of her hometown, San Angelo, TX. Born on October 31, 1961, also in San Angelo, Rachel's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and her capacity to find happiness in every moment. Rachel's journey began as the cherished daughter of Anna Maria Garcia and Juan Santiago (Borrado) Garcia. Her path intertwined with that of her beloved husband, Mark Martinez, who preceded her in death. Together, they nurtured a family of love and laughter, leaving a legacy through her children, John David (J.D) Acosta and Tiffany Acosta Pena, along with her son-in-law, Thomas D. Pena. Rachel's life was further enriched by her role as Grandma Bus to her adoring grandchildren, Raymond A. Serrano Jr., Alazae Serrano and her husband Angel Larez, Alliyah R. Serrano and Keelan Jones, as well as Gabriella and Savanah Acosta. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Ivan and Marco Larez and Karmello D. Jones. Rachel's formative years were spent at Edison Jr. High, where she began to cultivate her zest for life and her love for people. Her career was as diverse and vibrant as she was, having waitressed at Richards and later bringing her unique energy to Walmart Super Center as a stocker. But Rachel's true calling was the life she built outside of work, filled with the music she loved, the dance floors she graced, and the friends and family she adored. Her best friend, Marcy Reyes, stood by her through every high note and every challenging verse of Rachel's symphony of life. She was a loving, funny, and friendly soul, who greeted each day with a smile and a determination to make the most of it. Her strong will was her compass, guiding her through life's challenges with grace and tenacity. Rachel's love for travel and her passion for connecting with loved ones were the hallmarks of her life. She believed in living fully and fostering connections that transcended time and distance. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of her family and friends. In every interaction, Rachel exuded warmth and kindness, becoming a source of light and inspiration for those around her. Her ability to turn any situation into an opportunity for joy and her unwavering support of her loved ones are the treasures she leaves behind. Rachel also was a local owner of a antique shop here in downtown San Angelo. "Rachels Curiosity Shope". She loved to shop and sale many antiques.
