Elizabeth "Betty" Serafin passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Jersey City to the late Flora (nee: Keller) and Carl Frescki, she later made her home in Bayonne, where she lovingly raised her family.
A graduate of St. Patrick's Grammar School and St. Michael's in Jersey City, Betty began her career as an executive assistant at JP Morgan on Wall Street. She then dedicated 25 years of her professional life to New Jersey City University, working in the Office of the President.
A devoted parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Betty cherished spending time celebrating holidays with her family, trips to Bermuda, Las Vegas and Saratoga Springs during retirement and enjoying summers in Avon-by-the-Sea.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Francis "Bill" Serafin. She is survived by her beloved children, John Serafin, and his wife, Marlene, and Jill Pineiro, and her husband, John; her cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Tyler Serafin; and her beloved sister Nancy Panepinto and her late husband Joe.
A Memorial Gathering will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with a prayer service to follow at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
