Alice Maude Mary Scott (Swails) of White Lake Township Michigan died March 9, 2025. She was 89 years old. Alice was born January 18, 1936  to William and Jean Swails in Detroit, Michigan where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Walled Lake High School where she met her husband, Robert Scott. Robert told everyone he was going to marry that blonde girl after he first saw her. They were happily married for 63 years until Robert’s death in 2019.

Known to everyone as “Gaga”, Alice enjoyed travelling the U.S.A. and Canada with her family. She was a crafter and ran a craft store for many years. Alice was an avid league bowler and a lover of nature who always insisted on feeding the ‘poor starving birds.

Alice and Robert were generous in helping family and others when they needed assistance. She continued donating to the Arbor Day Foundation, Boys Town and other organizations even after Robert’s death.

A devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, foster mother, and friend, Alice was deeply loved and will be forever in our hearts.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Barbara Galbraith and grandchildren, Robert (Jennifer) Evans, Jerri (Ryan) Fischer, Dee Chapman-Manning (Edward), Jonara Jackson, and Morris (Amolia) Jackson. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and over 50 foster children. Alice is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert, daughters, Catherine Scott-Hampton (Greg Hampton) and Kimberly (Dan) Schlutow and grandson, Christopher Schlutow.

Service Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at 11:00am at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home, 5391 Highland Rd. Waterford.
