Whitinsville- Ida M. (Bechard) Lozier, 84, formerly of Suzanne Dr. passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Leominster Rehab and Nursing Center after an illness.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years Alphege “Al” Lozier Jr.; her son Eric Gregoire of Bradford, NH; 5 step-children Karen Scott and James Lozier of Whitinsville, Kimberly Geeza of Auburn, Elizabeth Egan of Oakham, and Christina Valarose in Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Alice Gervais, Germaine Deblois, Gerard Bechard, Alfred Bechard, and Emile Bechard. Born in Waterville, ME on September 22, 1940 Ida was the daughter of Wilfred and Dina (Roy) Bechard and lived in Woonsocket many years before she and Al married and moved to Whitinsville.
Mrs. Lozier was employed in Customer Service and as a Teller for Woonsocket Savings and Trust, which later became Eastland Bank. She also taught Elementary School at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Woonsocket, RI. Later, she worked as a Personal Care Attendant at Whitney Place in Northbridge. She was an avid reader and was musically talented playing the piano and organ. She was a former member of the American Business Women’s Association.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11 am in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held prior to her service from 10 to 11 AM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery will be privately held in the Spring.
