Sheila Jahrig, beloved wife of Cecil Jahrig, of Calgary, AB, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 91 years.

Sheila was born in Calgary, AB, on October 8, 1933. She grew up in Calgary, Lethbridge, and other locales in southern Alberta. In 1957, she married Cecil Jahrig, a union that lasted for the next 67 years.

Sheila raised three children, worked for Scotiabank, and Sears, and was a longtime volunteer at Heritage Park. She was an original member and long-time chairperson of the Woodcreek Seniors group and a Skate Canada judge. One of Sheila’s proudest memories was the time she spent as a volunteer at the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary. She was also an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and lifelong supporter of her children’s and grandchildren’s many sporting activities.

Sheila was predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Jessie Copeland, and her sister Mary Thompson. She is survived by her husband Cecil of Calgary, her children, Gary Jahrig of Missoula, MT, Terri (Mark) Gallant, of Sherwood Park, AB, and David Jahrig of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Bobby Jahrig of Missoula, MT, Cody Jahrig of Long Island, NY, Kira Gallant of Vancouver, BC, and Ethan Gallant of Sherwood Park, AB; and cherished cousins, Donna (Gary) McDonald of Hope, BC, and Jane (Bruce) Lockhart of Boswell, BC.

A Celebration of Sheila’s Life will be held at the Woodcreek Community Hall (1991 Woodview Dr. SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
