A beloved husband, father, grandfather and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at the age of 80, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on June 30, 1944, in Portage, Wisconsin, Jim was a graduate holding a Masters Degree. He excelled in his professional life not only as a skilled plumber but also as an award-winning Manufacturers Representative.
Long after retirement, he was still being asked to trouble shoot in the mechanical contractor’s field. His expertise earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
James is survived by his wife DeEtte. Their unwavering bond was a testament to a partnership built on shared values, love and laughter. Together they navigated life’s challenges creating cherished memories. He is also survived by his beloved son Brett Ziehmke and his granddaughter Isabel. He was preceded in death by his precious daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Will Reardon.
Memorials may be made to any favorite charity that helps others. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
As we remember “Jim” we celebrate a life well lived and the love he shared so generously. His kindness and infectious laugh will be profoundly missed. The family wishes to thank all the many friends who loved and prayed for Jim. He was blessed.
