Cora Lee Gibson

<p>Cora Lee Thompson Gibson, born August 10, 1929, passed away February 25, 2025 after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Hardy Slate Gibson, daughter of Harrison and Elsie Allen Thompson, both deceased. </p><p>She attended Kings Business College and retired from Alamance County Schools after working in Alamance County Government and Alamance County Schools from more than 32 years. She was a life long active member of Cane Creek Friends Meeting having served as Clerk of Meeting, treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, and member of the Women's Missionary Circles. </p><p>An avid flower grower, arranger she was a member of the N.C. Central Day Lily Club and former member of the Piedmont Camellia Club. She was never idle. She was always extending care to family, friends and neighbors and working in the community of Snow Camp. Cora Lee was a faithful servant who lived a full life as a role model of Christ likeness. </p><p>Cora Lee was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. </p><p>Survivors include her daughter Sybil Gibson of Raleigh, sons, Greg Gibson (Zylphia) of Traveler's Rest, SC, Allen Gibson (Carol) of Apex, grandchildren, Daniel Gibson of Denver, CO and Rachel Gibson Sessoms (Thomas) and great granddaughter Savannah of Apex. She also had many wonderful nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors whom she cared for deeply. </p><p>The funeral service will be conducted by Dr. Cheryl Benson and Reverend John Sides at Cane Creek Friends Meeting on March 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Graham, NC on March 7, 2025 from 6-8 PM. </p><p>Memorials may be made to Cane Creek Friends Meeting, P. O. Box 611, Snow Camp, NC 27349. </p>
