Robert J. Chiarello Obituary



Robert J. “Bob” Chiarello died unexpectedly in his sleep at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingston, NY on February 14th after battling a long illness. He is survived by his beloved children, Robert and Christopher and his long time partner, Lisa Plucin. He was born and raised in The Bronx, NY along with his brothers and sisters. Maureen, Daniel, Nancy and Richard. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert H. and Dorothy Chiarello. He is also survived by in laws, Carlos Marino, Barbara Gershon, Mary Ann Chiarello and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.


Bob made the most of his retirement from the field of radiation therapy and his previous careers as a bar and restaurant owner and a cost estimator for a large computer manufacturer. He enjoyed reading, traveling, tinkering and driving with his motorcycles and sports cars and particularly sailing his award winning sailboat, Galatea.


He was a proud graduate of Marist College in Poughkeepsie where he was on the crew team and kept a life long association as an eager participant in Alumni events. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to :

Visitation will be held, at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 38 Main St. Highland, NY from 4pm to 7pm, on Wednesday February 26th, 2025. A further celebration of Bob's life will be held in the Spring at a time and place to be determined.
