Shane Robert Dayley, 47, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on February 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with stage IV colorectal cancer.
Born in Thornton, Colorado, in 1977 to Marika Higgs and Ralph Dayley, Shane grew up alongside his twin brother, Sean, and older sister, Melessa. After graduating from high school, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Corporal. His commitment to education led him to later earn a Bachelor of Arts in History from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a Master’s in Business Administration in Finance & Accounting from Regis University.
Shane continued his dedication to service by joining the Army National Guard, where he served for eleven years and attained the rank of Captain. His pride in his country was unwavering, and his life was a testament to honor, resilience, and sacrifice.
He was a beloved father to two sons. In 2005, his oldest son Alex was born and is now a freshman in college. In 2007, his youngest son William was born and is now a junior in high school. His sons were undoubtedly his greatest accomplishments and will forever be proud of the men they are becoming.
In 2013, Shane met the love of his life, Jami Paulson, while working at Dish Network. Together, they built a life filled with love and purpose. One of his happiest moments was when his two sons, Alex and William, came to live with them full-time. Shane’s greatest joy was being a father, and he cherished every moment with his sons.
He was also a loving uncle to Zach, Trevor, Chase, Devon, and Cody. An animal lover at heart, Shane adored his two huskies, Bella and Brody, ensuring they were always part of the family.
Shane’s legacy of love, service, and perseverance will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.
