Earnest "Ernie" Lee Roberts II, 40, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on February 14, 2025. Born on June 17, 1984, in Indianapolis, he was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around him.

Ernie's faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life. A devoted Baptist Christian, he found immense joy in worshiping at Englewood Christian Church, Church 52, and many other congregations. His passion for sharing the gospel was unwavering—he dedicated himself to bringing others to faith in Christ and lived as an example of redemption and perseverance. No matter the struggles he faced, Ernie never allowed them to define him; instead, he used his experiences to uplift and guide others toward hope and renewal.

A devoted family man, Ernie cherished every moment spent with his children—Isabelle Roberts, Gabrielle Roberts, Ellanora "Roberts" Emery, Alyssa Roberts, and Ava Roberts. They were his greatest joy and inspiration. His love for them knew no bounds, and his guidance will forever shape their lives.

Born to Earnest Lee Roberts and Dawn Rochelle Mitchell, Ernie was blessed with a loving family that also included his stepfathers, James McClary and James Mitchell. He shared a deep bond with his siblings, Heather Nicole Roberts (Danny) and Matthew James McClary (Abby), who will miss him dearly. His nieces and nephews—Nathaniel Conway, Samuel Roberts, Mason Mills, Kaden Mills, Carmen McClary, Madeline McClary, Melissa McClary, and Jace McClary—will always remember their uncle’s kindness and infectious enthusiasm.

Ernie was also deeply loved by his maternal grandparents, Patricia Akovenko and Frank Morris. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Aaron and Mary Roberts; his aunt Deborah Roberts;
