Elton Charles Irby Obituary

Elton Charles Irby, 70, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Benton City, Washington. Born on June 3, 1954, in Cottonwood, Idaho. He grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and the simple joys in life.

Elton graduated from Kennewick High School in 1972. Throughout his life, he found joy in many pursuits; from working on cars to playing musical instruments and darts. He had a knack for tinkering and building projects for his beloved wife, Suzanne Beall Irby. Whether it was Thursday night card games with friends or camping and traveling with loved ones, Elton embraced every moment with enthusiasm and warmth.

A man of great kindness and generosity, Elton never stayed mad for long and always put others before himself. His caring nature made him a cherished presence in the lives of those around him. He found happiness in watching sunsets and meteor showers, admiring train art as it passed by his house, and taking peaceful walks. His love for animals was evident in the way he cared for them throughout his life.

Elton was deeply grateful to be baptized, finding comfort in his faith. His legacy of love and thoughtfulness will live on through family; his wife Suzanne, son Jeremy (Jennifer) Irby, grandson Junior, stepson Aaron Beall (Hailey), grandson Noah Beall, brother Larry Irby, sisters Lorna (Bob) Inglet and Diane Hedrick. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Irby and Elsie McLean Irby, Brother-in-law Joseph Hedrick, and Linda Irby, the mother of Jeremy.

A memorial service to honor Elton’s life will be held on March 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM with fellowship to follow at Tower of Pentecost, located on 930 Aaron Drive in Richland, Washington. In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to St. Judes, ASPCA, or your local Humane Society.

Elton’s memory will forever be treasured by those who knew him. May his kindness and love continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share his journey.
