Donna was someone that everyone went to for advice, help, or a listening ear with no judgement. She was known for always bluntly telling the truth, whether you wanted to hear it or not.

Donna Lee Higgins, 75, of Litchfield NH died at home on February 14, 2025. Donna was born in Fitchburg to Rita Beaulac/Lamothe/ Broderick and George Lamothe. She is predeceased by mother Rita, father George, and sister Carol Lamothe/DaVarney. Donna is survived by sister Barbara Sowerbutts, son Dennis Demeulle, daughter Penny Allen, grandchildren Stephanie and Torrence Phillips, Nichole Rodriguez, Nicholas Demeulle, Abby and Richard Fairman, Brian Allen, George Allen, many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

Donna started her career as a hairdresser where she enjoyed making people smile. She spent 13 years working in management for Brookside Hospital. She received her master’s in psychology later in life and specialized in addiction medicine. Donna enjoyed mentoring and teaching others, which lead her to be a psychology professor for Southern New Hampshire University where she retired from. Donna truly enjoyed the holiday season when the family was able to gather each year and make precious memories.

Donna will always be remembered for making slippers, hats, and mittens to gift anyone who would wear them. Donna's legacy will live on through her family. Her famous words will never be forgotten "Left foot, right foot, breathe".

A celebration of life will be held at the Knights of Columbus on 165 Electric Avenue Fitchburg, MA 01420 on May 4 at 11:00. All are welcome.
