Clarence E. Daley Obituary

Clarence Edward Daley, 90, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Longmont United Hospital.

He was born December 12, 1924 in Wallkill, New York to Harold C. and Nettie (Masten) Daley.

Clarence entered the United States Army on March 15, 1944. He saw action in the European Theater of Operation in Central Europe and the Rhineland, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged on May 12, 1946.

On April 11, 1947 in Oradell, NJ he married Shirley Bentley.

Clarence worked 35 years for IBM in Poughkeepsie and Kinston, NY; before moving to Longmont on January 7, 1977 and working his final 10 years at the Boulder/Longmont facility. He retired in 1987.

He was a member of the American Legion in Wallkill, NY and Post 32 in Longmont. Clarence enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf and bowling.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings Margaret Baumer, Estella Gobe and Harold Daley.

Clarence is survived by wife Shirley of Longmont, son Gary Daley of Arizona, three daughters Sharon Frantz (Roscoe) of Connelly, NY, Gloria Anderegg (David) of Port Ewen, NY and Colleen Abramsky (Robert) of Wilmington, NC, 7 grandchildren Michelle, Crystal, Justin, Brett, Alyssa, Heather and Courtney and 3 great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1:15pm Friday, November 20, 2015 at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Military honors by the United States Army. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
