TROY Claire Y. Marcil, 93, formerly of 5th Ave. passed away Friday February 14, 2025 at Eddy Geriatric Center. Born in St. Zenon, Quebec, Canada she was the daughter of Joseph and Rebecca Champagne Marcil and foster daughter of the late Wallace and Aurore Thouin Riberdy.
Claire had been employed by the former Garden Way of Troy and retired in 1993. In 1976 she was professed in the Secular Franciscan Order. She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.
She is the sister of Gaitane Langelier of Repentigny, Quebec, Canada and sister-in-law of Marcel and Donat Marcil both of Montreal. Also survived locally by many beloved cousins and their families. She is predeceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters all of Canada.
Funeral services will be Tuesday February 25, 2025 at 11 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home 133 Broad St., (Rte.32) Waterford and at 11:30 am at St. Augustine’s Church, Lansingburgh. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9-11 am prior to the funeral.
