Maria S. Ortiz left this world on Friday, February 14th, 2025. She was a resident of Millville, NJ for most of her life.

Maria is survived by her devoted daughter, Ivana Ortiz, and her loving mother, Slawa Szerenga. She also leaves behind her brother, Michael Dupnock, and her sisters, Slava Zulla and Olga Rodgers. Maria was preceded in death by her father, David T. Dupnock, her brother, David Dupnock, and her beloved spouse, Ivan Ortiz.

Maria's life was filled with passions that brought joy to both herself and those around her. She found immense pleasure in tending to her vegetable garden. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church community. Maria also had a deep love for teaching Ukrainian, sharing her heritage and language with others. Her affection for animals, especially horses, was well-known and reflected her gentle and compassionate nature.

Cremation will be held privately. Family and friends are welcome to join together for a visitation on Monday February 24, 2025 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ. A Panachyda Service will begin at 7:00 pm. The family invites all who knew Maria to share their memories and condolences on her tribute wall.
