Lewis Elmer Niver Jr., of Lansing, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Lansing, MI, at the age of 70. Born on June 11, 1954, in Elkhart, IN, Lewis’s life was marked by his warm spirit, his love for his family, and his knack for storytelling. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp.
Lewis met the love of his life, Cindy, and together they blended a beautiful family that included his stepchildren, Jessica, Josh, Nicole, and Trisha. His role as a grandfather was one he treasured deeply, his days brightened by the laughter and joy of his grandchildren, Khalil, Zachary, Bennett, Kaitlyn, Evelyn, Marisa, and Weston. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Liz Goddard and Mary Sanchez. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Della (Wright) Niver Sr.
Professionally, Lewis dedicated many years as a dependable driver for Dean Transhub. Lewis was seldom seen without a word search puzzle in hand, a pastime that brought him quiet joy and a sense of accomplishment. Solitaire was another favored hobby.
