Gloria S Bray Obituary

Gloria Sue Fry Bray of Osceola, IN born May 1, 1945, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 due to complications from a heart surgery.

She grew up in Mishawaka, IN and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1963. She worked several jobs throughout her career, but her favorite was at Miles Laboratory in Mishawaka and Elkhart, IN. She loved her job as a technician and enjoyed the engineering part of it.

She grew up in a large family of 8 children: Gary Fry (deceased), Jerry Fry (deceased), Karen Clark (deceased), Louise Null (deceased), Judie Davidson (deceased), Sandy Snyder and Keith (Lindy) Fry.

Surviving are her 3 children: Kimerli (Robert-Deceased) Hunt of Kingsport, TN, Cynthia (Chris) Anderson of South Bend, IN, Stephen (Kim) Bray of Osceola, IN; grandchildren: Brandi (Ryan) Stull of Kalamazoo, MI, Beth Strange of Salisbury, NC, Courtney (Dan) De St. Jean of Walkerton, IN, Zachary (Ashley) Anderson of South Bend, IN, and Bailee Bray (Michael Olando) of Granger, IN. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

She loved gardening and flowers; and she grew the prettiest zinnias in the neighborhood. She sang all the time to anyone, including strangers, doctors and nurses; and loved giving everyone a special nickname. She loved the old hymns and played them beautifully on the piano in her younger years. She also loved Christian music; especially Third Day. She loved to listen to George Jones and Tammy Wynette and George Michael. Music was her love language. Her favorite song recently is “A Parent’s Lullaby” by Nathan Osmond.

Gloria enjoyed the beach and water visiting Hawaii several times throughout her lifetime.

She cared deeply about others and would give the clothes off her back to strangers. She always made sure you took food, her clothes, or tchotchkes home when visiting her house. She was known for her strong will, unwavering determination and was always right. She could make you feel like the most special person on earth.

Services celebrating her life will be at the Palmer (formerly Bubb’s) Funeral Home in Mishawaka, IN on Sunday, February 23, 2025; with the viewing at 3 PM and funeral service at 4 PM. If you have any stories you’d like to share, please feel free to share at the viewing or memorial.
