Sven I. Nelson Obituary
With great sadness we announce the passing of Sven I. Nelson, 93, of Forked River, NJ. He grew up in Bloomfield and raised his own family in Pine Brook, NJ. Sven was pre-deceased by his parents, Herbert and Elisabeth, and a brother Herbert, Jr.
Surviving are his loving wife of 71 years, Doris A. Nelson, and three sons; Douglas and his wife Arlene, Peter, and Gary and his wife Denise. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Desirae, De’Anna and her husband John, and Gary Jr., and two great grandchildren; Octavia and John III.
He proudly served in the Navy, stationed in the Philippines.
He was a master carpenter by trade, and retired from Damon G. Douglas Construction Company at age 62. In his retirement he enjoyed furniture building, wood carving, fishing, antiquing, and traveling.
He will be missed by all who know him, especially his family.
