Sylvia Gale Gollick (Riplett), 77, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Billings, Montana.

Born on December 13, 1947, in Billings, Sylvia was the daughter of Clyde and Cecelia Riplett. She dedicated her life to caring for others, a passion that led her to attend St. Vincent Nursing School, where she became a registered nurse. Her career spanned over three decades at St. John’s, where she provided compassionate care to countless patients. Nursing was more than just a profession for Sylvia—it was a calling that reflected her deep commitment to serving others.

On June 15, 1968, Sylvia married the love of her life, David Gollick. Their marriage of 56 years was filled with love, adventure, and shared passions. Together, they enjoyed fishing trips to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, creating cherished memories in the beauty of nature.

Sylvia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found immense joy in her family. She is survived by her husband, David; daughters Nicole DelCamp (Dale), and Heather Wible (Jamie); son Travis Gollick; and Travis’s best friend Paul Karch, who Sylvia and David considered to be one of their own children and his wife Addie; and brother Rod Riplett (Billie) and their 2 children and their families. She was also a proud grandmother to Megan, Kyle, Trevor, Mike, Josh, Will, and Christian. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did—from spending time with her grandchildren to enjoying thrift shopping outings with loved ones.

Her faith was an essential part of her life. Sylvia had a strong Christian faith and a servant’s heart that guided her every action. She touched many lives with her kindness and unwavering devotion to those around her.

Sylvia will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John’s United of Billings in honor of Sylvia’s memory.
