LATHAM - Mary T. Parker (nee Razzano), 92, died peacefully Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home in Tapestry Senior Living in Springboro, Ohio with her loving daughter Mary Nielsen at her side.
Born in Watervliet on March 19, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Grace DeRosa Razzano. She was the beloved wife of the late James G. Parker, who predeceased her in 2001; loving mother of Mary C. (Scott) Nielsen, James G. Parker, Jr. (Ann), John V. Parker (Deborah), and Carol A. (Rich) Blanchard; cherished grandmother of Sarah (Nielsen) Collins and Peter Nielsen, Alison Parker and Erin Parker, Kevin Parker, Elizabeth (Blanchard) Klahr, Friar Timothy Blanchard, Monica Blanchard, Mary Blanchard, and Catherine Blanchard; adored great-grandmother of Lily, Kate, and Andrew Nielsen; dear sister of Vincent (late Janet) Razzano, and was predeceased by her other siblings Anthony Razzano, Domenica Razzano Krakat, and John Razzano. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Doris (late John) Razzano and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary married the love of her life, Jim, in Watervliet on January 14, 1956. They later moved to Latham where they raised their family. Family was important to her. She was happiest when she was surrounded by them and though distance separated them, they remain close which was always a gift to her.
She was a devout Catholic and member of Saint Ambrose Church in Latham for almost 60 years and St. Mary of the Assumption in Springboro. She loved to sing. For many years she was a member of the Saint Ambrose Church choir and was occasionally asked to sing solo for church events. Friends will remember her as being caring and compassionate, always taking time to listen and pray with them. As a volunteer, she supported the mission of the Little Sisters of the Poor in their Ministry of the care for the elderly.
During her last three years of life, while living at Tapestry, she continued to be devoted to the Eucharist and the rosary as a source of strength. She touched many lives there and will be remembered and loved.
On Monday, February 24, 2025, relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 am at Saint Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd, Latham with Reverend Brian Kelly officiating. Interment to follow in the Saint Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor (https://www.littlesistersofthepoor.org/donate/).
