It pleased our God to take unto Himself our beloved Tommy Lee Miller, age 85, who was transitioned from labor to reward
on Friday, February 14, 2025. A devoted family man, cherished friend, and a man of impeccable style. Tommy lived a life full of love, laughter, and created unforgettable memories. Born on February 26, 1939 in McMahan, Texas. Tommy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.
He was a faithful member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. A.W. Anthony Mays. His faith was the foundation of his life, guiding him with love, kindness, and strength.
He graduated from George Washington Carver High School, Lockhart, Texas. He dedicated his career to the Texas Department of Transportation, where he later retired. Always striving for excellence, he also earned his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), demonstrating his strong work ethic. Known for his refined fashion sense, Tommy was always a sharp dresser. His charming and contagious smile made his presence known the moment he walked into a room.
A true Texas sports fan, Tommy had an unwavering love for football and baseball, rooting for any Texas team with pride. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, filling his days with laughter, and good company. His favorite pastimes included listening to the oldies, playing dominoes, trying his luck with the lottery, and watching classic western movies.
Tommy is preceded in death by his loving parents James and Ruth Ella Miller, his beautiful daughter Janie Lea Simmons. Siblings: Mackey Joe Miller, Teral Lee Miller, James Miller Jr., and Jean Esther Columbus. He leaves two daughters to cherish his memory: Carolyn Denise Miller, Lisa Machel Taylor (John), Lockhart, TX. Tommy was wonderfully blessed with six grand-children, Qiana Hicks, Lester Tremaine Britton, Dante Britton, Ivan Simmons, Jamiel Simmons and Jamie S. Whitaker (Rico). Eight great-grandchildren, Siblings: Jerdine Butler, William A. Miller, San Antonio, TX; Theodore Miller (Shirley), San Marcos, TX, and Erma Hender son, Austin,TX.
He leaves to mourn a host of relatives and friends.
