Wendell Maurice Matthews, 57, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born February 15, 1967, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Connie Matthews and Rhubena Nance Carter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by is sisters, Claudetta Millner, Mary Clements, and Hazel Matthews; brothers, William Henry Matthews, Edward Matthews, and Jerome McDanield Matthews.
Wendell was a member of Shiloh way of the Cross church. He was a craftsman of houses. He enjoyed doing yardwork and loved his family dearly and he was a very loving brother that we will cherish and miss.
He is survived by his sisters, Doretha Smith and Brenda Holland; brother Joe Louis Matthews.
All services will be private. The family will be receiving friends and family at 927 Brookdale Street, Martinsville, Virginia 24112
